A Real Table (Et ægte bord)

The work, ‘A Real Table’ was created by the two artists Marie Retpen (glass) and Begitte Lynge Andersen (textile) and brings to mind a dining situation. 

The different parts of the work, comprising both recognizable and sensuous, abstract elements in i.a. blown glass and crocheted textile, appear to be fused into one symbiotic, living organism. The expression is at the same time poetic and delicate, grotesque and vivid, and as a spectator one can doubt when the meal, organs and extremity start and end.
